It all started last year when I was on a serious and I mean serious hunt for a pair of high waisted black vintage levi jeans. Thankfully I found a pair at a second hand shop and they cost me damn near a hundred dollars. I see why though. The sit just at my navel, the waist a perfect fit and they allow just the right amount of room for my thighs, hips and butt. Not to mention they practically lift up your butt and gently cradle each cheek as if their mounds of gold, or in my case hazelnut chocolate. I LOVE THOSE JEANS. They are expertly made and fit like a dream. When I sit down the back doesn’t fly out exposing my underwear. They are hella sturdy too and with each wash bounce right back to being the perfect fit after several wears. But this isn’t about those jeans, this is about THESE JEANS.
I have been looking for the perfect vintage high waisted mom jean. I’ve scoured thrift stores high and low throughout the city with no such luck. But one day, I was perusing my favorite store at the moment, & Other Stories, and there they were. You may have even seen me try these jeans on over on my instastories a few weeks ago. I’ve worn them just about every day since.
They are that good.
For the next week, I’m gonna show you just how I rock them.

GET THE LEWK
The mom jean is pretty much the best jean ever made. Why you ask? Well because it shows off your figure because the hips actually fit and then there’s ample space for the junk in your trunk. I myself don’t like jeans at all. The jeans I do like are wide leg, like these Rachel Comey Jeans, and these DL1961 wide leg jeans. I just like my legs to breathe. I hate anything that feels too confining and tight around my thighs. Ah, the vintage style mom jean. I’m almost tempted to go buy another pair of these jeans, just in case anything should happen to this beloved pair. Who knows how long & Other Stories will continue you to make these, so get them while you still can. I also love how they taper at the ankles making them perfect for Fall with a bootie or even ankle boot. And speaking of boots, I’m definitely getting these leather slouchy over the knee boots from & Other Stories as well.
It is still August. Mind you it will be September in 1 day but whoa. I woke up yesterday morning and it was 64 degrees. Fall really has NO CHILL (see what I did there, ha ha). Actually this Fall has all the chill because usually it’s still scorching hot this time of year. I’m usually sweating bullets during Fashion Week which is in 1 week but it seems this year will be a little cooler which I’m all for! I just scored these Margiela mules from YOOX.com a few days ago. They are on sale (less that $150) and they are my new favorites. I practically ripped this coat off a mannequin at Zara two weeks ago. Until a sales associate politely informed me that there were more down in stock and she’d bring me a fresh one. Zara has been killing it lately.
Stay tuned for more ways I rock the best mom jeans I ever bought.
