Paris Fashion Week: Day 2 Style Diary

IMG_6486

I am already a few days behind and really trying to remember what the heck I did on day 2 of being in Paris. My mind has essentially turned to goop and I’m barely surviving thanks to the strong Parisian cappuccinos I’m drinking every hour for 4-5 euro’s a pop. I was supposed to wake up super early and go to the Eiffel Tower but I overslept a little, (2 hours to be exact), but I still made my way down to the Ecole Militaire station to check out the Iron Lady by 11 am. It was relatively quiet for a Friday morning at the Eiffel Tower. She is still beautiful and wondrous and I love her. After shooting around a bit with Emily we went back to my place to get some much needed wifi before heading to a cafe across the street for a much needed coffee. It’s true, I’ve never drank so much coffee in my entire life as I have this month. I really don’t know how people do all 4 fashion weeks and not die from sheer exhaustion and dehydration.

After a delicious cappuccino in the 10th Arrondisment, on a quaint street with bike riders who will run you over before ringing their bells, and chain smokers on green benches, I made my way back to my apartment for a rest. My first presentation was an hour or so away and I decided to take a power nap, only that power nap turned into sleep and when I awoke I was already 45 minutes late for my scheduled appointment to view the the Sandra Mansour S/S 2015 collection. I decided to wear something very high fashion and chic, which is a little uncommon for me. I always like to mix it up a little with thrift and quirkiness but today I went full fledge, The Devil wears Prada. I knew I’d be up close and personal with the designer Sandra Mansour and wanted to put my best foot forward.

I opted for a satin hunter green skirt I bought while in Milan at an outlet store. The outlet store was amazing with tons of designer duds marked down to 70-80% off. I found two lovely skirts! I paired the skirt with an H&M striped top, Alexander Wang heels and my trusty vintage Louis Vuitton bag, thats just big enough for my camera. The Sandra Mansour collection was by far my favorite of Paris Fashion Week. Later in the evening I made my way to Jean Paul Gaultier  S/S 2015 Fashion Show and that was just a mind blowing experience. Since it’s come to light that this collection will be his last Ready-to-Wear collection, I feel as though I was a part of history. The show was intriguing and entertaining. The weight and happiness of it, left me with tears in my eyes. I just couldn’t believe that I was so fortunate to witness it.  I am sooooo tired and my feet are killing me, but I’m loving every moment of Paris.
