The holiday’s are here and over the next 4 weeks there are going to be tons of family dinner’s, holiday parties and of course New Years Eve! It’s the perfect time to bust out those one off pieces that you buy but never have an occasion to wear. Holidays are the time to indulge in whimsy and outrageousness ie. (sequins, extra wide bell bottom pants, lovely ballooning A Line skirts and the craziest of heels) basically the PERFECT HOLIDAY ENSEMBLE. I love festive & themed dressing and do so anytime I get the chance, hence these party pants that I stalked on Shopbop.com but missed out on. The Sample Sale Gods smiled down on me at the recent Derek Lam sample sale when I saw them there marked down about 90% and basically got them for nearly free. Not only is it holiday dressing time, SALE SEASON is hot and heavy right now, even with Black Friday and Cyber Monday being over…sample sales and end of season sales are still going strong.
I am very excited about the Holidays and the act of buying gifts for everyone. I love gift giving and I have been scouring the best sites and popping up in local boutiques to find unique and interesting gifts for everyone. I must admit I’m most excited about shopping for my brother and my boyfriend because its not often I get to buy gifts for men. I am also eager to take advantage of the upcoming sample sales especially the Assouline Sample Sale for the perfect coffee table books and the Rachel Comey Sample Sale for awesome denim basics.
With the holidays rolling around I love to add a little extra glamour with the unexpected and the extra wide striped pants and fringe sweater and mule fit the bit. I have been lusting after these fringe Tibi mules ever since seeing them worn by one of my favorite bloggers Natalie Joos. They are super festive and can be worn through the Fall & Winter with a cute sock. Socks, are indeed making a comeback, just look at Stance. When dressing for the holiday’s and holiday parties, its fun to express your holiday spirit in clothing form but to also be comfortable. A wedge over a heel, and a pant over a skirt can make all the difference when dancing and eating and having a good time. Speaking of eating I love sharing some of my favorite places to dine in NYC and I recently had an amazing brunch at the cutest spot called The Cupping Room. It’s also located in prime shopping central in Soho which makes it the perfect pit stop while doing your holiday shopping in the city. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the end of season sales online from boutiques and sites like Net-a-Porter, Barney’s and Moda Operandi. In the upcoming weeks prices will drop!
