MFW: Les Copains S/S 2015

Les Copains was the first ever runway show I attended during Milan Fashion Week and it didn’t disappoint. The show took place at a lovely venue Clerici Palace in Milan. The actual street is tiny and then it opens into a lovely stone courtyard. Guest were treated to champagne and strawberries as we waited to be let into the palace. Once ushered inside one is greeted by a large marble like staircase that leads into a great room with large wooden frame windows over looking the courtyard below. Then through that room (where it is supremely large yet totally unfurnished with large chandeliers and a burgundy floor) one enters another room. This one with magnificent painting on the walls and ceilings and large mirrors decked in gold paint and crystal chandeliers dazzling. It is in this room along with 3 others that the models walk through for the show. I happened to be in the great room were the models first enter and it was glorious. It didn’t hurt that I was also front row.

The Spring/Summer 2015 collection of Les Copains is the debut collection of Stefania Bandiera, the new creative director of the house. And I must say she’s definitely made an impression. Jungle inspired leaves were incorporated into the collection on light weight fabrics and silks. I also loved the use of knits and laser printer leather. The colors of the collection were vivid and tropical tones of greens with accent colors of amber, sand and vanilla.

The collection was meant to be a seductive and sensual one and they even had master perfumer Dr. Vranjes create a scent in his antique workshop in Florence, to fill the room and evoke that feeling. Overall I really enjoyed the collection and could definitely see myself wearing a lot of the pieces.

What do you think of the collection?
