The Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2014 Collection was one of my first shows of New York Fashion Week. I am a huge fan of Rebecca Minkoff and her fashion shows. She makes really durable handbags which really last the test of time. Her collections are always fun and on trend as well. What I love most is that she really puts thought into her collections and that they are wearable. Sometimes designers don’t keep in mind how the clothing will translate into the real world from the runway but thats never the case with Rebecca Minkoff. For the past few seasons I’ve attended her fashion shows she has also incorporated live music and bands. It adds a real coolness to the runway shows and you really feel like you are witnessing and being apart of something cool.
With this collection I especially loved the layering. I’m a southern girl, born and raised in North Carolina so layering to me is still a foreign concept although I’ve lived in New York for going on 6 years. It’s still hard for me to figure out proportions and such so it doesn’t come easy but its always nice to have examples to pull from and this collection has definitely amped up my inspiration for layering.
So it looks like knee high boots and dark lips are still in for next Fall as well. Which is a great thing because I’ve already invested in both! One of the shows sponsors was actually Samsumg Galaxy which is awesome because I had the chance to test out the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from Verizon over fashion week and got some pretty amazing photos and video using it.
