Fall Fabrics: Sweatshirts, Fringe and Suede

IMG_5329

Welp, that was quick, it feels like the day after the last day of Summer, Fall officially arrived. It’s definitely cardigan and light jacket weather here in New York City. Although I’m sad to put away my favorite crop tops and sandals, I’m extra excited to debut many of the Fall booties, I collected earlier this year and didn’t have time to wear. Fall is the season for slouchy sweatshirts, fringe and definitely suede. It seems most of my shoes are suede anyway so that works perfectly for me.

GET THE LOOK

I’m pretty sure I’m going to live in sweatshirt tops this Fall. They are so easy to dress up or down or to run some quick errands in. They also make a very dressy look, a little more laid back. It’s a trick I’ve learned from many fashion editors, when you have an extremely elaborate skirt like this one, keep the eye on it with basics that won’t distract from it. I got this Rodarte sweatshirt via The Real Real and it feels good against my skin. It’s super soft and cozy. I’ve been wanting this sweatshirt for the longest and I got it for a fashion STEELE too. This Lamarque fringe skirt has been on my radar since earlier this year when I tore it out of a magazine and put it onto my vision board. It finally went on sale and I got it for about 75% off the original price. It so comfortable and a neutral color so it will be very easy to pair it with just about anything leading into the colder months.

Currently I’m packing for my trip to Mexico next weekend. I have so much to do: laundry, eye brow arch and I definitely need a mani pedi pronto. My eyebrows look pretty crazy at the moment and I’m in desperate need but will only go to one lady. It’s funny how we have to have the deepest trust in our eyebrow and hair stylist. I’ve lived in New York City for just about 10 years and I’ve only ever gone to 2 eyebrow shapers and 2 hair stylists. That list has been cut down to one of each now. For the first 3 years here, I did my own hair because I trusted no one to do it for me lol. But I digress, I’ve been packing a few items for Mexico including this Tory Burch fringe gem, that I also scored on The Real Real. As you can see my obsession with fringe doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon (from this hat, to this skirt and these shoes). I can’t wait to share my Mexican adventures with you all.

PS…who else is excited for the return of all the awesome Fall TV shows?? Scandal, HTGAWM, Blackish, Empire, Fresh Off The Boat, Nashville!!!! I am happily watching away this season.

xx

I love a good sweatshirt. I looked at your outfit in the opposite way. It gave me a great way to dress up one of the most comfy items in my closet. Thanks!

I love how your sweatshirt has writing on the back too.
