Top 5 #NYFW Street Style Trends

Some of the best fashions happen off the runway during New York Fashion Week. This winter season I compiled a video showcasing What Everyone Wore to New York Fashion Week on my YouTube channel. If you haven’t had a chance to check out that video, definitely give it a watch if you need a little inspiration. In the meantime, here’s what I saw a lot of when it comes to street style, not only at New York Fashion Week, but Copenhagen and Paris Men’s Fashion week as well. I’ve also included where you can buy and try out these trends.

BOTTEGA VENETA EVERYWHERE

I saw more Bottega Veneta on the streets of New York Fashion Week and in photos of show attendees at Copenhagen and Paris Mens than any other brand. Daniel Lee has put Bottega Veneta on the map with their quirky yet comfortable shoes from the Lido Mules, to the Stretch Mules to the Mesh Pumps. Everyone was wearing Bottega and let’s not even talk about that pouch bag. The Bottega Pouch bags were everywhere. Hell, I even indulged with a great dupe from Amazon Fashion. I also saw a lot of the Bottega Veneta Quilted Bags as well. This brand has become The It Brand. I expect that Bottega Veneta will reign supreme in 2020 when it comes to shoes and accessories. I just bought my 3rd pair of Bottega Veneta shoes but you’ll have to wait until my Luxury Designer Haul on YouTube next Wednesday (Feb 26th) to see what I got!

PUFFER COATS ARE IN

It was pretty cold this New York Fashion Week so the looks were more about the outerwear than they were about the actual clothes people were wearing. I actually wore two puffer coats during fashion week, this shorter version from lulus.com and this longer version from Urban Outfitters, both of which are a neutral caramel/cognac color. I saw all variations of puffer coats, in different lengths, materials and colors.

COMBAT BOOTS ARE THE WAVE

Another huge trend on and off the runways were very military style combat boots. Prada’s combat boots are currently flying off the shelves by all the fashion It Girls. Those styles have trickled down into every price point of fashion. I saw combat boots worn with flowing maxi dresses and with slim fitting jeans tucked into them and even with mini skirts and puffer coats. A lot of great combat boots are on sale right now being that Spring is on the way so this is the best time to invest in a great pair to prepare for the upcoming Fall & Winter of 2020.

NEUTRALS & NUDES MAKE CHIC EASY

There were are a lot of neutrals worn to the shows. Head to toe camels, taupes, nudes, off whites, browns, whites and creams filled the sidewalks of New York City during Fashion Week. I even dabbled in an all white look myself courtesy of Farfetch. There’s something so chic about an all neutral look! Perhaps that’s why it was even a trend on the runways as well.

UNIQUE EYEWEAR

Being that people couldn’t readily express themselves with clothes because of the cold, rainy weather all of New York Fashion Week, they did it with accessories. I saw a lot of unique sunglasses. People wore them on the streets and in doors. It was really quite fascinating. Even Anna Wintour wore her sunglasses inside at the Serena by Serena Williams presentation and it was definitely dreary out, but that’s her thing and she can do that. I loved seeing all the different styles from oversized, to cat-eye, to mini sunglasses and designer sunnies too.
