Paris Guide with Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann

Last week I had the pleasure of being a Galeries Lafayette #VeryBackstage Christmas Ambassador and seeing everything Paris and Galeries Lafayette has to offer for the holiday season. Galeries Lafayette was the first department store I went to on my first visit to Paris and I have to visit every time I’m in my favorite city. The store is simply stunning with every designer and luxury brand you can imagine. The rooftop is the place to be and currently houses an Ice Skating Rink with Eiffel Tower views. I had the chance to witness the Tree Lighting Ceremony and take a walk on the infamous #Glasswalk. Here’s a quick guide to Paris based on my lovely trip with Galeries Lafayette. Stay tuned the Vlog is coming soon.

FLY RIGHT: I’ve never flown business class and after flying from Newark to Paris on La Compagnie Airlines, I’m afraid I’ve been spoiled and will never go back! The entire plane is business class and has just 76 seats. Why so little seats you ask…because each seat converts into a flat bed for sleeping comfortably. The have huge touch remote controlled screens for watching movies and even have Caudalie skincare products in your welcome kit along with socks, an eye mask and more. They have award winning chefs who create the menus on board the plane as well. I absolutely loved my experience flying La Compagnie and hope to fly with them again in the future.

GALERIES LAFAYETTE MINI GUIDE

EAT: Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann and Gourmet have a ton of options when it comes to food. I’d definitely eat at Angelina’s inside Galeries Lafayette. I absolutely love their hot chocolate and its the perfect place to pop into after a full day of shopping. They also offer Macaron Baking Classes and Wine Tastings!

SHOP: If you have the means and want a real treat, book a Personal Shopper VIP experience at Galeries Lafayette. There is a suite located on the 6th floor with 4 luxury rooms to cater to personal shopper clients. There’s even a stunning view of the Sacre-Coeur. They offer 2 hour sessions of personal shopping and fashion advice as well as 3 hour styling sessions. The stylist did an excellent job picking out amazing pieces for me. In addition to those services there are 2 areas of curated trend pieces that are specifically picked out by the stylists at Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann. I’d definitely recommend checking out the Galeries Lafayette in house brand, the shoe department and the expansive beauty section.

SEE + DO:

Glasswalk + Tree Lighting Show: Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann is breathtaking with a glass roof dome that you can get a stellar view of from the Glasswalk. The Glasswork is a bridge on the 4th level of the store. It’s clear and you can see down to the bottom level and up to the ceiling with unobstructed views. It’s not for the faint of heart but it’s even more magical with the Christmas Tree and hourly light show that happens during the Christmas Season. The theme this year is the Beehive because Galeries Lafayette is always buzzing with activity.

Window Displays: This holiday season the window displays are mesmerizing with bee themes and puppets and all the best merchandise Galeries Lafayette has to offer this holiday season.

Rooftop Ice Skating Rink: During the holiday season the rooftop terrace houses an open air ice skating rink with beautiful view of Paris. I had a ball ice skating as the sun rose over Paris. It’s a must do! It’s open daily from 9:30am to 8:30pm.

WHAT TO DO IN PARIS

Cake Decorating Workshop with @cakeboyparis: This was one of the major highlights of my trip with Galeries Lafayette. Frank is a self taught baker from California who made his way to Paris 8 years ago. He has a stunning Parisian apartment where he holds private cake decorating workshops. I had a blast learning how to make icing. My cake was delicious and I can’t believe I helped to create it.

Visit the Opera de Paris Le Palais Garnier: During my stay we had the opportunity to visit the Opera which is right across the street from Galeries Lafayette. The Opera has a rich history and the tour was informative and entertaining. It’s a must visit with it’s close proximity to Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann. You can get a guided tour for 12 euros or a self tour for 8 euros and it’s worth every penny to experience the opulence.

Le Lido Cabaret Show: I’ve never been to a cabaret show and to experience my first one in Paris was amazing. The show was mesmerizing and the food was delicious. It was definitely the most entertaining part of my trip! I can’t wait to go back and see another show. It’s also located on the Champs Elysses a popular shopping destination for tourists.

Cocktails + Dinner: Take a cocktail making glass or have a nice dinner at Courtyard Marriott Paris Gare de Lyon. They also specialize in office events and work spaces for your business meetings.

Thank you so much to the Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann team for the amazing opportunity to visit Paris and experience everything Paris has to offer during the holiday season.  I hope this guide is helpful for anyone visiting Paris during the holidays or any time of year!
