A few days ago I had the pleasure of doing an instagram takeover for 50 Bowery Hotel, which is a new hotel on Bowery St. in NYC set to open next month. They wanted me to do a little Guide to Chinatown showcasing the neighborhood and my favorite places in Chinatown and Lower East Side ( L.E.S.). Make sure to head on over to 50 Bowery Instagram and check out my photos.
GET INTO COLOR
Chinatown is always buzzing with action. When I first moved to New York City and people visited me, Chinatown was the first place they wanted to go. Mainly for knockoff bags and New York City trinkets of course. But over the years and with the crackdown on knockoff bags, Canal St. has converted into more of a market selling everything from hard to find veggies and fruits to fresh fish. Not to mention tons of shopping has popped up in the vicinity as well. Canal Street Market it one of my favorite markets for up and coming designers and artisan goods. Canal Street Market also has the cutest West Elm Lounge with a library where you can sit and read a book or catch up on emails. It’s the perfect little pit stop after an afternoon of shopping in Soho.
I’m so into these colorful Mara Hoffman pants! I love color and I’m just happy the weather is warming up here in New York City so I can be just as colorful as Chinatown. I’m looking forward to 50 Bowery opening up soon because it’s going to be a fun and colorful place to stay right in the center of Chinatown and all the action!
