the importance of knowing what works for you

I know what works for me when it comes to clothes. It’s probably one of the handful areas in life that I know what works for me, but I digress. I am an off the shoulder girl. Just take a stroll through my instagram and you will see, I’m all about a drape and an off the shoulder look. I think it stems from a past relationship where one of the first compliments I received from him was that he loved my neck and shoulders and clavicles. It was kinda weird but I made it a habit to show them off after that and I haven’t looked back since.

Beloveds, Spring is almost here and I am so excited for warmer weather and getting out of the house and packing away my grey and black clothes. Anytime the weather slides above 50 degrees I go for a run. I’ve recently gotten back into running and I can’t even believe that I actually LOVE it. Now previously I only ever ran when I was angry. Which a few years ago was quite often. I can’t get enough of running now. I’ve been going through a lot of personal changes lately. This is a time where my mind is often bombarded with questions that I’ll probably never have the answers to. I’m sure you all have been there and it feels like your brain is hijacked and you have no control over the racing thoughts in your mind: the what if’s, the maybes. I got so fed up with not being able to mentally block those things daily that I put on my running shoes a few weeks ago and ran 4 miles.

I almost died but it felt so good for that hour that I ran. It felt so good because I could think of nothing but me and what I was doing to my body. I am hooked. Any chance I get I’m out there punishing my body and pushing it to the limit and focusing entirely on me. With warmer weather rolling around soon, I’ll be able to explore more running trails in Central Park in Manhattan and Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Speaking of Brooklyn, I’m also excited for Cherry Blossom season to start next month. I’ve always wanted to go to Brooklyn Botanical Garden to check them out and I always miss them, but this year I am on it!

That being said, know what works for you, when it comes to clothes and when it comes to life.

I hope you all have an awesome weekend!

xx
