Falling for Fall

IMG_5180

I must admit that I didn’t particularly like the Fall season until very recently. All I knew about Fall is that it’s the prelude to that dreadful season who’s name I won’t mention. The season I hate the most because for some reason I don’t have enough pants and sweaters in my wardrobe to manage sufficiently. And we all know how much I detest pulling out that very unattractive bubble coat. But Fall this year is actually quite nice and seems like it may stick around more than the mere two weeks it usually does. It’s lovely to see the leaves change on a quaint Brooklyn street. The extra chill is perfect for my all time favorite leather jacket. But what I really love about Fall is that my skirt collection is perfect for this season. I have an obsession with skirts and prefer them to jeans, or pants (and i barely have 3 pair of shorts to rub together), so there’s that.

The perfect skirt for Fall is one that is the perfect length, either bellow or slightly above the knee. It’s great when you want to where your knee high or thigh high boots to show just a sliver of skin. I have a ton of pencil skirts and knee length skirts that will be great for my over the knee boots. I’m excited for the coming weeks to show you all the many ways to style skirts right up until that dreaded season. I’m finally back in the swing of things after my awesome vacation to Mexico. I definitely needed that trip to wake me up out of writers funk. It’s pretty hard to come up with content for each post that doesn’t sound super redundant. Well, now I’m officially inspired. There so much I want to do. I want to add more lifestyle and interior decor to this site as well as more travel. I have so many ideas running through my head and I know eventually I’ll have to narrow them down to what can actually be feasible in this short two and a half months left in this year.

I had a fit of madness when I got home from work last night. I told myself if I hadn’t worn something in a year, I was going to pack it away and donate it. I now have 9 bags of everything under the sun to donate. I’m getting rid of about 75% of my wardrobe. It’s a bit bitter sweet. I remember every post in my head from when I first started this blog of outfits I’ve worn. It’s weird to see in clothing form, how much I’ve changed, and how my taste in clothing has matured and grown. I’m different. I used to rely very heavily on thrifting and that has dwindled down a lot, I used to be very heavy into chain stores such as Forever21 and H&M and steadily those have gone too. My wardrobe now is down to the things I love and can see myself wearing for the next 5 years. But who knows just where my mind will be in 5 years seeing how I’ve changed so much in these last 5 years up until now. I guess you’ll just have to stick around and see.
