This dress is one of my favorite thrifted pieces that I picked up in Paris for 10 Euros. I wear it year around. I wore it last fall layered up with a sweater and hat. I wear it in the Spring with my favorite lace up sandals. I’m always looking for ways to rework it and relayer it and I had a brilliant idea. I wore this dress over one of my Derek Lam skirts that also has pleats to give the dress more volume and color. I love the way it turned out.

Dress: Thrifted | Skirt: Derek Lam | Scarf: Used at Belt bought in Paris | Shoes: Derek Lam | Coat: H&M | Clutch: BCBGeneration | Watch: c/o Guess Watches
My new trick to add a little variety to an outfit is to use scarfs as belts. I did the same thing when I was in Milan covering Milan Fashion Week. I love how layered this look is being that I am horrible at layering. I picked up this coat from H&M a few months ago and it was such a fashion STEELE at $29! I know I will wear it all Fall and Winter long and its the perfect way to top off a layered look. I also got to rock my green suede pumps that I picked up at the Derek Lam Sample Sale. I’m telling you that sample sale yielded quite a few gems that I know I will wear forever.
I love finding new ways to make something old new. I have definitely found a new love for one of the most worn pieces in my closet. I’m also a little giddy about exploring more Fall and Winter layering. I think I pulled it off with this look and can’t wait to see what else I can do and bring some of my Spring and Summer pieces straight into Winter with me!

Nice idea to layer the dress over the skirt, I have to try it.
