I’ve done a few Guides to Miami over the last 2 years and more recently when I actually moved to Miami part-time in early 2021. I just too a week long trip back to my new home town and have lots more to add to the previous guides I’ve already done. You can check it all out here in my Back to Miami Vlog on my YouTube Channel. If you want to check out my prior guides with more places to eat, shop and stay you can check those guides out here. I do have a full Miami Travel Section as well. This guide will focus on new hotels and restaurants I tried for the first time, a few old faithfuls and of course everything I wore and bought while in Miami. Make sure to bookmark this post and share it for future travel inspiration.
WHERE TO STAY
$$$$ 1 Hotel South Beach: This is where I stayed for 3 days and now it’s my new favorite hotel. It’s right on the beach and not too far from the action of South Beach (below 5th Street) and close to fun places to shop like Lincoln Road. It’s hella expensive but worth every penny. There are 3 pools, a beach club, 6 restaurants and a bar. Honestly, if you stay here you don’t even have to leave to have an amazing time.
$$: East Miami: This hotel is not on the beach, it’s in Brickell which is basically downtown Miami where there are a lot more buildings. This hotel is a little more affordable and has a lovely pool and 3 restaurants (2 of which are rooftop with amazing views). It’s also connected to a mall which is great for shopping.
WHAT I WORE & BOUGHT
I did a haul on Youtube showing what I bought and packed for this trip to Miami. You can watch that here. I also bought a few things while in Miami. Shop everything I wore here on my Shop Like To Know It account. You an also shop everything I post on Instagram there as well. I did buy a new fragrance from Diptique that I’m absolutely in love with from one of the stores inside the 1 Hotel South Beach Lobby. I also got a new makeup primer from Sephora since my makeup was practically sliding off my face in Miami and this one really worked. I also bought this stunning orange dress by L’Agence while shopping at Saks in Brickell City Centre as well as this colorful Alice & Olivia Dress that I can’t wait to wear. For my dinners out to Papis Steak I wore this stunning tie dye slip dress and for dinner at Komoto and this leopard print slip maxi dress form Rat & Boa that was a certified hit. All of my swim suits were from Rat & Boa as well.
WHERE TO EAT
Watr at 1 Hotel South Beach Rooftop: I had one of the best meals of my weeklong stay in Miami at this rooftop restaurant. We got an umbrella and chairs and sat by the pool and ordered the Octopus, a Spicy Tuna Roll and a shrimp salad and a few frozen margaritas. Everything was absolutely delicious. A little birdie also told me the rooftop restaurant has the best food of all the restaurants at 1 Hotel South Beach. If you are an octopus fan, this was some of the best octopus I’ve ever had in my life!
Papis Steak: I finally made it to Papis Steak and it lived up to all the hype. It’s very exclusive in there and very dark and sexy too. You need to turn a look when heading to Papis for dinner. The service was incredible from start to finish and so was everything we ordered. You can’t go wrong with the scallops Española, any steak and the truffle corn. My God, the truffle corn! The drinks were hella strong and the dessert, some delicious butter cake topped with ice cream is a must! Go for the food and stay for the vibes. But be warned you are going to spend a couple stacks in this establishment.
Komoto: I also finally experienced Komoto and it was everything I thought it would be even on a Tuesday night. There was even a Black Panther actor siting. And it was a lovely view. LOL. If you can get a table on the main floor dinning area so you can hear the DJ spinning and indulge in the very fancy yet fun vibes. The food. My goodness, the food. We went with the Dragon Roll which was incredible, the pork ribs…WOW, and the lobster lo mein which was absolutely delicious. Again one of the best meals I’ve had in Miami and definitely one of the most expensive.
