The Only 5 Pairs of Jeans You’ll Need in 2019

I love a good pair of jeans even though I don’t wear them often. I’m a summer baby and prefer for my thighs to be free from oppression. But over the years, I have found a few pairs of jeans that work well year around. They never go out of style and they’re easy to dress up or down. And just so you know, a skinny jean ain’t on the list. I don’t know what it is about tight jeans but they just make me feel confined. LOL. I’m really trying hard to remember the last time I wore a pair of skinny jeans and for the life of me I can’t recall. Anywho enough about what’s not in for 2019, let me update you on the only 5 pair of jeans you’ll need in 2019 and beyond.

The Cool Element Denim

Jeans can be pretty boring if you let them but lately designers have really been elevating denim with unique designs. I love the criss cross element on these otherwise very regular denim jeans by AGOLDE. I love the relaxed fit too. Think outside the box when it comes to a good pair of denim. Of course make sure they’re functional as well Try a distressed hem jean, a two tone denim jean or even a paperboy waist jean for a modern touch. Every detail matters when it comes to elevating and modernizing the denim jean.

The Mom Jean

I am in love with the 3 pairs of mom jeans that I own. 2 pair are the exact same pair from & Other Stories. I love the quality of their denim. I have washed them a ton and they always bounce right back! They are fitted without being tight and somehow manage to be sexy even though they are Mom Jeans. They are super high waisted which I love but aren’t so tight they flatten out my bottom. Don’t you just hate when denim jeans squish your butt into something unrecognizable? High waisted jeans, which most mom jeans are, seem to work well for my shape (small waist with real hips and a butt).

The Wide Leg Jean

I love the look of a retro chic high waisted denim jean that glides along the hips and bottom and then flares out from the widest part of your thighs all the way to the floor. There’s something so effortlessly cool about a pair of wide leg jeans. Tracee Ellis Ross, my style idol, wears them a lot with the cutest screen print tee shirts and gold hoop earrings. Trust me beloveds, issa lewk.

The Classic Straight Jean

The straight jean is forever a classic. Just make sure you try them on. They must pass the sit test. The sit test consist of sitting and making sure the back of the jeans don’t triangle away from your backside. That’s always the problem with classic straight jeans but when they work they work well and you’ll only ever need one good pair.

The White Jean

Yes, the white denim jean is still that sought after magical denim jean that we all search high and low for to make our wardrobes complete. I finally found mine at a sample sale last year and I don’t know how I ever got by without them. Who cares what they say about wearing white after Labor Day. There’s nothing more chic than an all white lewk in the dead of winter.

Which of these jeans do you already own and which are you looking to add to your wardrobe?

xx
