On the Transparent & Heavy Knit Trend

Hello, my name is Monroe Steele and I am a transparent & heavy knit trendaholic. I have jumped all the way on the bandwagon. I’ve taken lessons and I’ve actually become the driver of said bandwagon. Lol. I can’t keep myself from buying clear things. This trend is cyclic, meaning clear and transparent items come back into fashion every 3-4 years or so. I’m kinda upset that I gave away this clear envelope clutch I had from like 6 years ago. Don’t you just hate when that happens. That’s probably one of the reasons I hoard so many clothes. But I’m pretty sure  donated it, so I can’t feel bad for parting with it. Anywho, I am loving the transparent trend. The best part about it is the endless amount of outfit creations you can make because clear goes with everything! So yes, I have on clear earrings that I just scored from Mango, a clear tote that I also got from Mango and will probably wear till it falls apart this summer and clear sandals from the Who What Wear x Target collection.

I am madly involve with these sandals. They are super comfortable and affordable. I really had no idea that Target had such amazing footwear. I will definitely be stocking up on sandals for Spring and Summer. In addition to the transparent trend I am loving very luxe heavy knits. I know, I know it’s Spring and Summers just around the corner but hell it’s still in the 40s here in New York City and I can indulge at least for another month in heavy knit pieces. I saw this heavy knit cardigan at TicTail and had to have it. By the way TicTail is a great place to shop to find one of a kind pieces from accessories to clothing and shoes. The site brings together small designers and small business across the entire world and the supply of unique things to buy is endless. You can guarantee that if you get an item from TicTail the percentage of you seeing someone else rocking that piece is slim to none. Which is always a plus in a big city like New York were everyone shops at the same 3 stores and you can’t throw a rock at a party or brunch without hitting someone in the same Zara top. But back to this cardigan,  I know I would without a doubt, wear it as a dress. It reminded me so much of the Hanifa Official beautiful knitwear skirts and wrap dresses. I will be most definitely purchasing this skirt soon and its always a good luck to support young black businesses.

Here’s hoping Spring actually comes soon. In the meantime you can check out my Top 10 Trends to Try this Spring Video Haul, and you know the transparent trend makes the list.

PS. I think orange may be my new favorite color
