I get tons of emails daily from PR reps about new products. When I received one about this innovative skincare line Retrouvé, I was so intrigued I read every bit of information I could find about it. For starters, I found a photo of Tracee Ellis Ross (my fashion fairy godmother) with these products on her bathroom sink. I was already sold. Then I saw a review about Retrouvé Nutrient Face Serum from Zoe Kravitz. Now these two gorgeous badass women have AMAZING SKIN. I needed to get on whatever boat they were on and sail into the sunset sunkissed and pimple & wrinkle free. Yes, I am 33 years old and a have a few minor wrinkles (and grey hairs too! Downstairs and upstairs but that’s I different story for another time). Retrouvé is a unisex skincare line created by Jami Morse Heidegger and husband Klaus Heidegger. The line was released in 2013 in my favorite city, Paris. The line was created for their personal use. Jami, who is well seasoned in the beauty industry being that her father, Aaron Morse and grandfather Irving Morse had a hand in creating and taking over Kiehl’s when it was just a pharmacy in the 1920s to the late 1980s. The father-son duo helped to create some of the products that are still popular today, including Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion and Creme de Corps. In 2001 the company sold to L’Oreal.
What I like most about these products is the scientific aspect. Retrouvé has 30 years in research resulting in a line that is up to date utilizing the latest technology and updating the 6 products offered when new technology becomes available. This is a new concept in regards to beauty. The products center around active ingredients and their textures as well as how they are absorbed into the skin depending on the function. Retrouvé is composed of the most exclusive and effective ingredients available on the market, with the highest possible levels of concentration, regardless of the cost.
I was fortunate enough to be sent the entire Retrouvé line of six products: The Intensive Replenishing Facial Moisturizer, Nutrient Face Serum, Dynamic Nourishing Face Cream, Revitalizing Eye Concentrate, Luminous Cleansing Elixir and Skin Brilliance Priming Pads. These products don’t contain dyes, artificial fragrances (which can easily set off my sensitive skin), parabens, silicons, petroleums or mineral oils. It’s also not tested on animals.
My Take On The Products
I absolutely adore the Dynamic Nourishing Face Cream. If I had to choose between one item to buy from the entire line (Which comes in at a whooping $1,500 for the 4 main products), I’d go with the Dynamic Nourishing Face Cream ($390). My face LOVES THIS STUFF. I’ve seen a HUGE and NOTICEABLE difference in my skin since I’ve been using it for 1 month. My pores are smaller, my face is moisturized and luminous and my complexion has evened out considerably. So much so that people on Instagram have been sending me DMs about what new makeup I’m using, even when I’m barefaced on Instastories. It’s expensive. But I know those active antioxidants and nourishing ingredients and technology to foster them aren’t cheap. The key ingredients are incorporated into the products in maximal quantities to prevent aging, nourish skin and restore skin to youthful radiance. The shit works. Bottom line. So when I run out of my free samples, I’m going to save up and purchase the Dynamic Nourishing Face Cream every 3 months. Mainly, because I haven’t found anything that works this well in maintaining moisture for my super dry skin. I can go makeup free thanks to this product giving me amazing glowing skin. A notable mention goes to the Nutrient Face Serum which feels like covering your face with honey. I like to use it after a deep exfoliation to restore moisture and promote healing.
