I love Shea Moisture and I have literally tried a shit ton of their Hair Masque and conditioners looking for one that doesn’t irritate my very sensitive and fragile scalp especially after shampooing. I finally found the perfect combination of products. My favorite co-wash & hair masque is the Shea Moisture Sacha Inchi Oil. Sacha Inchi oil is the oil of the sacha inchi nut found in the Amazon rainforest. This oil contains 3 Omega acids (great for strengthening) and 50% antioxidants. I actually found these products on sale at my local Duane Reade. I love love love the light smell of it and how it seeps deeply into my hair. My hair almost detangles itself (or at least helped rid me of a few minutes time of detangling it myself). Usually after I take out my protective styling I like to co-wash or shampoo twice to remove buildup quickly and efficiently and follow that up with a hair masque for 30 minutes to an hour. I found that the Shea Moisture Sacha Inchi Oil Omega 3, 6, 9 Rescue & Repair hair masque is one of the few that doesn’t irritate my scalp (I.E. tingle too much or feel like its slightly burning) after shampooing. I slather this stuff on and put on a hair baggy and crank out some blog posts before washing it out an hour later. My hair feels super soft and my curls bounce right back after being extra stretched from protective styling for 1 to 2 months.
In addition to using the hair masque after protective styling, I go back to a normal routine of washing and conditioning every 2 weeks. My favorite conditioner at the moment is the Shea Moisture Yucca & Plantain Anti-Breakage Strengthening Conditioner. I think I like it because I eat Yucca and Plantain on a regular basis. I also noted that this conditioner has significantly helped me with breakage and my hair sheds a lot less. So for now these are my 3 go-to products when its time for wash day.
