My Summer 2019 Favorites

Summer is coming to an end but I must say it was a great one. Summer gave me some great moments, some adventures, some heartache, and a bunch of things I couldn’t have ever imagined. I’ve learned of new brands, tried new products, watched new shows, ate at new places and generally just enjoyed being in the warmth of the sun. I am hella Vitamin D deficient, along with most melaninated people in the US. Here’s a little round up of my summer favorites.

This was the summer I learned of Rubys Cafe in New York City and it quickly became my favorite restaurant along with Union Square Cafe. My new favorite place for a great drink is The Gitano Jungle Room, Gitano or The James Hotel Soho Rooftop Bar Jimmy.

When it comes to shopping I’m all over 3 new favorites: The Frankie Shop in the Lower East Side, Dana Foley also in the Lower East Side and The Break a high end vintage shop in Williamsburg Brooklyn.

Skincare & Beauty Favorites

Summer blessed me with a ton of makeup and beauty campaigns and PR companies sending me an array of products. I’ve incorporated a ton of these products into my daily life and don’t know how I previously lived without them. When it comes to skincare, I cannot champion Elemis any more than I already do. Their Peptide 4 Adaptive Day Cream, Night Recovery Cream Oil and Thousand Flower Mask are the stuff dreams are made of and are currently 20% Off. Dove’s new Micellar Anti-Stress Beauty Bar is my ultimate favorite soap. I can actually feel the stress melting away when I shower. Oh and let’s not forget Chanel Coton Wipes. They are really the best for makeup removal.

Entertainment Favorites

The Summer has also given me some of the best TV I’ve ever watched form the second season of A Handmaids Tale, to the the second season of Power. I also really enjoyed binge watching the following: Working Moms, Styling Hollywood, Better Than Us, The Worlds Most Extraordinary Homes, Pose and Mindhunter. Whew, that was a lot, and then there’s Youtube where I enjoyed binging Chriselle Lim, Ryan Serhant, Brendan Fallis and Fohr videos. I learned a lot too. When it comes to instagram, I am currently obsessed with @thetrapwitch who doles out amazing relationship advice, @mikaelahallen a stylist who inspires a ton of my purchases including my best purchase of the summer these hot pink Jacquemus shorts. I’m also pretty obsessed with @best_airbnb account because I love a good airbnb. I’m still pretty obsessed with Susan Miller’s astrology zone. I read my monthly horoscope religiously.

Well, thank you Summer for the fun and all my new favorite things. I’ll have to start doing this every season. I’m actually quite excited for Fall. New clothes, new trips, new memories to make, new TV shows returning LOL. Stay tuned….
