6 Fall Trends to Buy & Try Now

My weekend observing Fashion Week and taking in all the gossip, parties, street style and fashions has come to an end. New York Fashion Week is only bearable for me in small doses. I had a wonderful time though and the highlight was definitely the Shopbop Diner Party, hanging out with my girls and the Christopher John Rogers & Tibi Fashion Shows. I also had a pretty amazing time collaborating with Ebony Magazine for their Instagram Takeover for a glimpse into what goes on during New York Fashion Week. Hurry and check it out before it disappears, or check out my IGTV (I reposted it!). It’s actually cooled down a tiny bit and would you believe I’m actually a little excited for Fall. I am a Spring/Summer gal so I’m living for all these fashion shows predicting and producing trends that will hit the shelves in 6 months or so. I used to take a blogging break in the Winter because I hate Winter and who is trying to stand out on the street in 15 degree weather taking outfit photos? But dare I say it, I’m excited to push myself with my outfits. Spring and Summer are easy. Fall and Winter ensembles are the real challenge. How do you take a bubble coat and make it fashion? Here are the 6 trends and staple pieces every woman needs for Fall.

The Chic Blazer

I’m loving a tailored classic blazer and got this one from Mango during their Labor Day Sale for 30% Off. Blazers are such a great look an instantly makes any outfit look super put together. I also plan on purchasing this camel colored dream from Zara as well. Boohoo also has a great array of affordable blazers perfect for Fall.

The Biker Boot & Bootie

I love pairing a very feminine dress or flowy floral skirt with a tough biker boot. It’s also a great way to keep your feet warm especially during New York Winters. My favorite biker boots are low heeled (1 inch or lower). Alexander Wang makes great biker boots and I like them broken in so I usually buy them consigned from The Real Real. I also love All Saints for their well made boots and booties.

The Perfect Hat

I have turned into a hat person. I love not having to do my hair and instantly looking chic. The Newsboy hat like the one I’m wearing is my all-time effortlessly chic go-to hat. I also love a great wool beret with a pop of color. A felt fedora goes a long way too.

Everyday Denim that can be Dressed Up or Down

From my favorite wide legged Rachel Comey Jeans (yes they are expensive but they are worth every penny and have paid for themselves how much I wear them). The high waisted hip hugging, wide legged jeans are my favorites. I also love my high waisted booty hugging Mom Jeans from & Other Stories. They’re cut right at the ankle and are perfect for showing off a great bootie or a sleek pair of pumps.

The Silk Slip Dress

A slip dress is super versatile and can easily transition from day to night. You may be thinking that a slip dress isn’t good for Fall but silk is actually a great insulator keeping in heat. You can also layer the hell out of it, over a sleek turtleneck (yes you need one of those too) or layer it with an oversized wool cardigan. Top the look off with a great pair of sneakers for day or a classic mule for night.

Classic yet unpredictable Outerwear

If you don’t have a trench coat yet, oh baby what is you doing? Get one in a classic color like camel, grey or black. Or get a little adventurous and go for a herringbone, plaid or houndstooth trench coat.

What trends are you looking forward to indulging in this Fall?
