2018 Guide to Labor Day Weekend in New York City

Summer is closing out and if you’re in New York City during Labor Day Weekend, you’re in luck because there’s so much to do. I’m not excited about summer coming to an end. It went by way too quickly but I am ready to party my ass off this upcoming weekend. It’s pretty awesome that instead of a 3 day weekend, I get a 4 day weekend. I’m gonna live it up too. Go ahead and bookmark this post and starting purchasing your tickets to the best Labor Day Events in New York City.

FRIDAY AUGUST 31st

Only Champions Events is partnering with King Leo Productions, Vale Vibes, Shorblu and Trini Jungle Juice to kick off the biggest and baddest party of the weekend, Soca Rave. All my West Indians and Soca Lovers need to assemble yourselves and go ahead and get your tickets to start your Labor Day Weekend off right. The event takes place in Sunset Park Brooklyn from 9pm-4am and features performances by Kes The Band, Bunji Garlin, Shenseea and more. Tickets range from $60 for General Admission to $150 which included complimentary top shelf liquor & finger foods. Get your tickets here.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 1st

Everyday People is kicking off Labor Day Weekend at Industry City in Brooklyn. Everyday People is always a good time with some of the best DJs and chunes. From 5pm-Midnight you can party the night away in an effortlessly cool location for their #RumRiddim Party! Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.

DJ Private Ryan presents Soca Brainwash NYC “Africa” at one of my favorite venues, Brooklyn Mirage from 4pm-11pm. It’s going to be a movie. The first batch of tickets sold out in 10 minutes flat. There will be two different experiences with this theme. I don’t know what they’re going to do but I’m hella intrigued. There will be 2 stages, 2 DJs, one indoor experience and one outdoor experience. Ticket’s are sold out…but you’re more than welcome to troll Instagram and Twitter for those selling theirs.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 2nd

Rum Punch Brunch is having their well established brunch from 2pm-10pm at Jimmy’s in midtown Manhattan. Brunch includes $40 Bottomless Prefix Brunch, Full Hookah Services and Bottle Service. Tickets range from $10-$20 depending on if you want to brunch and party or just come and party. Either way it’s worth every penny. I was on another planet after 1 rum punch at their last brunch, which was the same day as Curl Fest! The drinks are strong and the DJs phenomenal. Get your tickets here.

1 Life to Live Entertainment is having their 7 year celebration at PhD Midtown Terrace (another favorite spot in the city) from 10pm-4am. There is NO COVER ALL NIGHT. I REPEAT IT IS FREE! But there is a mandatory RSVP and you can do that here.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 3rd

Everyday People is really giving New Yorkers a good time this Labor Day Weekend. On Monday they are having their epic Everyday Afrique Party in Brooklyn at Output. Output is one of my favorite venues. It’s deceptively huge. I love the outdoor terraces, the strong drinks and the inside dance floor space too. This is the place to be on Monday so go ahead and cop your $20 ticket and go party from 3pm-10pm. Don’t wait, get your ticket now and get there no later than 4pm or you will end up being one of those people looking up at everyone having the time of the lives from the line on the street below. This party always sells out and DJ mOma always shells the place down. Get your tickets here.

I hope you all have an amazing Labor Day Weekend. If parties arent your thing you can always check out some of the best places around the city to visit and take photos as well as some of my favorite brunch spots in New York City. Oh and here are some pretty amazing rooftops to experience as well before summer is over.
