Summer’s End

September 21 will make the end of my not so favorite (anymore) season. This summer has been almost unbearable in New York City. It’s been insanely hot and unbearably humid. My Con Edison bill for August will no doubt leave me weeping hysterically in my stairwell. All that money that could have gone towards my trip to Paris at the end of September or at least my Bermuda jaunt in October. The things we endure to save money. I have sat in an 84 degree room for 3 hours determined to stick it out (literally) with just a fan, all to save a few bucks. As some point, the temperature settled around 93 degrees for 3 days straight, I said the hell with shoe money and banished myself to my room with blackout curtains and an air conditioner.

I had an amazing weekend with my BFFs bachelorette party going off without a hitch! Hope you caught all the shenanigans on my snapchat: Monroesteele. I’m actually still recovering from the Brukwine class we did last Thursday. I love Soca music and dancing. I had a ball at the class and learned a few moves, but LAWD, my left knee screamed for 4 days afterward. Who knew I would fall apart so quickly in my 30s. Speaking of Soca, I’m currently in the mist of planning my first Carnival! I’m so excited I don’t even know what to do with myself. I’m really looking forward to going to Trinidad as I have never been to the Caribbean and I love west indian food, music and men so it should be an awesome time.

If any of you have been to Carnival before please drop me some tips in my comments!

PS…you can literally see the heat vibrating in these photos, it was 94 degrees out when they were taken.
