Culottes are making a comeback. They’ve actually been coming back the past 3 years but nonetheless they are back. While perusing the 100’s of overwhelming racks of vintage clothing at the Current Affair Vintage Show in Brooklyn a few weeks ago, I came across these amazing vintage culottes. I had to have them and there’s something about the fit go vintage cut jeans and bottoms that work so well for a small waist, and wider thighs. They really had the proportions just right a few decades ago.

Last weekend I took a little stroll with Jackie, a new photographer I’m working with, to site see around West Village and do a little shooting. I’m really trying to showcase more of my favorite NYC neighborhoods. West Village is so charming and quaint and it feels like another world in the big, loud, rushing city, especially early on a Sunday morning. You can even find yourself all alone on a lovely street. After parting ways, I walked over to one of my favorite West Village Brunch spots, Buvette for fluffy croissants with butter and jam and a heavenly egg concotions. Unfortunately they don’t take reservations and it’s hella small so get there early with a very small party 1-2 people so you won’t have to wait. Go for the quaint outdoor space if you can.
Although I do love a good designer find, you can never go wrong with unique vintage. These culottes with for sure be in heavy rotation this summer.
Tomorrow is The Other Festival, a festival for creative women with informative panels, meet and greets and of course a line up of amazing female DJ’s, performers and bands. I’m looking forward to hearing Naomi Campbell, Arora James and Stephanie Mark speak as well as meeting them! Tickets are 40% off so if you’re in NYC this is the place to be.
Make sure to follow me on Snapchat: Monroesteele for all the behind the scenes action at The Other Festival!
