Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending The Other Festival. I actually won tickets via Instagram. I had never heard of this new festival until a friend @’d me on their instagram post to win tickets to attend. But as soon as I read up on this new festival I was super excited to attend whether I won the tickets or not. The Other Festival was founded by Dee Poku-Spaulding and is the first all female festival of it’s kind, from the conversations with notable creative business women to the all female bands. I wanted to put my best fashion foot forward for this event, knowing it would be an amazing networking opportunity. I just got these incredible No21 Bow Mules from the Moda Operandi sale, and knew they would be perfect for The Other Festival. And I must say for being in them for 6 hours they are super comfortable and I’m interested to learn more about No21.

The day started with several conversations and panels landing from Finding Your Dream Investor, to The Icon Interview with Naomi Campbell, to Behind the Seams with CFDA winner Aurora James of Brother Veillies. One of my favorite panels was From A Hashtag to a Movement with Beverly Bond of Black Girls Rock as well as Your Style, Your Personal Brand with Stephanie Mark of The Coveteur and Melissa Battifarano, design director of Rihanna’s Fenty Corp. The day was super fun filled and I even got put on to a few new brands to covet from Anndra Neen (the perfect caged clutch) and Morgan Solomon of AGMES (who designs the most amazing modern chic jewelry). Jen and I went to town snapping, tweeting and instagraming away so make sure to check out my snapchat: Monroesteele to get a glimpse of The Other Festival before its gone! I am definitely going to keep my ears opened for when the next The Other Festival happens. This one was the first but given how much of a success it was, it definitely won’t be the last.
