Nothing like making your way home in a yellow cab as the sun rises over the East River after an awesome night in the city that never sleeps.

Last night me and a couple of friends hit up a show at Mercury Lounge. I’ve actually never been to see bands play and it was so much fun! I fell in love with the band B. Miles. The band was so seamless and smooth and the music and the sound they created was incredible. The sound system at Mercury Lounge was perfection and I love how small and intimate the venue is. B. Miles has the most amazing voice full of power and quietness and angst. I’m definitely going to go seeing more live bands. It was such a fun and new experience. After listening to a few bands the girls and I headed over to 169 Bar. I must admit it wasn’t what I expected, it was so much better! We spent a big chunk of the night drinking, singing out loud and dancing to oldies.  There was Rick James, James Brown and Stevie Wonder and I’m pretty sure we were the only people in the place who knew all the songs. So we put on a show for everyone and they loved us for it. 169 is a really cool bar and has been around for like 100 years. So if you’re in the city check it out! Oh and order a round of Moscow Mules (my new favorite drink).

Speaking of new, and new experiences I’m headed to afternoon tea tomorrow at The Baccarat Hotel and I couldn’t be more thrilled. My sister in blogging Khalia of The Coveted K and I are heading there to check it out as we’ve both heard a lot about it. It’s also instagram heaven in every nook of The Baccarat Hotel. Make sure to check out my instagram to see how luxurious afternoon tea is expected to be. The clothing options will be endless being that Spring has officially arrived in New York City! I can finally break out my scrappy sandals and ditch my bubble coat for my favorite leather jacket or even lighter denim jacket. It’s definitely time to start switching out my dark wardrobe for lighter and brighter spring pieces. I’m also steadily adding more interesting silhouettes like wide leg pants and bell sleeves to my spring looks. It’s a trend I spotted all last year on the runways and one I’m eager to invest in. But for a now, a moody and dark New York Night, called for a moody and dark New York look.

I hope you all are having an awesome weekend.
