On the weekend, I like to do what New Yorkers do, brunch. I like to have brunch at Harlem staple Il Cafe Latte or Soho favorite The Cupping Room and then walk around and window shop. I then buy a few meaningless things like a new nail polish. Who am I kidding, I buy the same nail polish (Essie’s Cocoa Karma), over and over. Broadway Nail & Spa Nail technicians know me by name. I get that great jelly pedicure and feel like a kid again mushing my feet around in the radioactive green jelly. Everyone thinks its a little weird when they ask me to pick a polish and I pull mine out of my bag. Sorry, I’m a little OCD. Then I like to get a doughnut from Dough or Doughnut Plant and perhaps peruse isles and isles of nothing but paper at Paper Presentation. I follow that up by looking a ceramic plates at Fishes Eddy’s, and then getting a wax at Dyanna’s  Spa & Wax. Dyanna’s is the only place I’ve EVER entrusted my bits to and Marina can have you in and out in under 10 minutes flat. They also have those delicious cinnamon candies that I love.  At some point I need a Chai tea latte with an extra pump and whip cream from Starbucks, to give me a boast for the power browsing that will commence in Soho.

I make my way through Union Square Market and buy beautiful fresh flowers to fill the 4 vases I have at home. I usually go for peonies, wild flowers or white mini roses. Then I’m off to window shop at & Other Stories, Zara and Top Shop. Only I don’t buy anything, I just see whats new. I did however buy these cool sneakers from & Other Stories a few months back and they’ve become my all time favorite. At the moment I’m obsessed with beautiful but uniquely designed tops and flared jeans so I do a lot of online purchasing but in person looking. For dinner, I love Republic. I usually get the pork chops or the grilled chicken. I always save room for black sesame ice-cream for dessert. At some point I make my way to my boyfriends, to lay on his chest and nap. I kid you not it’s my favorite and most comfortable place in the world.

The perfect New York weekend.
