Canadian Tuxedo–because denim on denim always prevails
Here we are again, at one of my favorite places in New York City, the High Line. I decided to take a little morning walk and enjoy the scenery before a showroom visit. Summer is dwindling and although I’m sad about putting my crop tops away, I am happy for the Fall season to arrive. It’s one of my favorite seasons, for shoes alone. I have a great love of Fall footwear: booties, knee high and over the knee boots, fur and suede. Fall is the perfect season for light leathers and I’m eager to pull out my trio of favorite leather jackets as well. But for now I just want to savor these last days of Summer.

I’m actually pretty excited for the cooler weather. These last few days of Summer have been hot and humid and leave me feeling disgusting after being outside for only a few minutes. I can’t wait for evening walks in the park amongst the changing leaves and pumpkin spiced everything (from lattes, to breads and everything in between). I didn’t have a vacation this year and I’m looking forward to going to Playa Del Carmen and Cancun next month. I definitely could use a vacation in a tropical setting. I bought so many bathing suits this year, that I never even wore, so this trip is going to be the perfect way to officially end my Summer.
It’s amazing that I thrifted both of these pieces, the top from a thrift shop in Toronto and the skirt at a Goodwill in my home town in Durham North Carolina for only $1. The best thing about this skirt is the pockets and the shape is timeless. I know it will never go out of style. That’s the great thing about a good thrift.
If you haven’t been, make sure to visit the High Line, its a great place to relax and get away from the bustle of the city without actually leaving the city.
