NYFW: Zimmermann S/S 2015

I have always been a fan of Australian brand Zimmermann. So I was pretty stoked when I got the invitation to attend their Spring/Summer 2015 collection. This is just their 3 season showing at New York Fashion Week so I was definitely excited. The show did not disappoint and even exceeded my highest expectations. Zimmermann is most well know for the swimwear and resort wear but their foray into ready to wear has been exceptional and the transition ever so seamless.

The brands stuck to a neutral color palette: Whites, beiges,  lavenders, greys, creams, tans, coppers, golds and browns. A lot of the pieces were sheer or had a shimmer quality to it. I loved the off the shoulder styling and the shoes were a chunky heel with gold and wooden embellishments. I even love the huge wire thin circular earrings with stones. This collection was indeed light and airy the way Nicky Zimmermann envisioned it. The way the fabrics danced around the models as they floated down the runway was breathtaking. So much so that I could tear my eyes away, even for a moment for fear I’d miss the next best thing. Thats how you know the collection was amazing. There was no time to take your eyes away to do anything other than check the view on your phone or camera and wait for the next model.

There were bathing suits, iridescent trench coats, shimmery extremely well tailored suits in the most flattering hue of sunset pink copper. I loved every single thing! I could visually see myself wearing every piece. Zimmermann will take over the world.
