It was my first day and second show of the evening, but I knew I had fallen in love. That gentle type love that makes you feel more beautiful than ever, well at least that’s how I felt. Tadashi Shoji captivated onlookers with beautiful lace, pleats, pastels, encrusted collars, translucent layers, and sheer mesh necklines. Everything I admire about clothes all expressed in one collection. From mini dresses, floor length frocks with crop tops ( a trend still going strong), cape like silhouettes, and form fitting gowns, kept me on EDGE!
Tadashi Shoji inspiration derived from the “Golden Palace of Venice.” That moment when the sun sets and the rays dance upon the Grand Canal. The color palate of the city lights up city and inspires, which was captured in every piece that hit the runway. The moment felt like a whimsical dream as the pieces told interesting engaging stories. It was almost as if time had frozen and you had no other option but to take it all in.
Directly across from me I spotted June Ambrose and Jay Manuel with stone cold faces and fancy pants shades that masquesed their true emotions. With the nodding of heads and smiles in the final walk the two fashion power houses approved and so did I.
Fall in love and enjoy the video.
