NYFW: August Getty S/S 2015

I had never heard of August Getty until this New York Fashion Week, but I definitely wanted to see what the fuss was about. People’s Revolution one of the top and most respected PR Firms in the city tooted August Getty and THEE designer to watch. I was lucky enough to be invited to the first ever August Getty debut collection.

The August Getty Atelier had a wide range of mini dresses and the opening dress was definitely one of my favorites. It’s something I could see myself wearing for a night out in the city with the girls. The tailoring was clean and impeccable and I loved all the asymmetries within pieces as well as hemline play. Getty did an excellent job of showing just enough skin but not too much as well. The blazer dress was also another huge favorite of mine.

Overall the collection was clean, minimalistic yet still accentuated the womanly figure.  The exaggerated bell dresses were another of my favorite and probably the talk of the show. I love how the show began very structured and tailored with blacks and whites and slowly faded into flowy fabrics and finally sequins. The August Getty Atelier definitely has something for everyone. I really enjoyed the collection and look forward to seeing more from August Getty.

What do you think about the collection?
