NYFW: Mara Hoffman S/S 2015

She has a robust eye for fabrics and this season Mara Hoffman came with a much lighter perspective. Negating this time around from the favorable in your face prints, she creates a much easier collection for a more tranquil space.  The show started with an all white ensemble and slowly unfolded softer muted tones and imagery. Hoffman’s inspirations this season is  “The Sunrisers,” the idea of being light which represented a more fluid and relaxed collection. Hoffman crafted life on the runway with floor sweeping cut out dresses, collared crops, culottes, wide leg trousers, lighter volume skirts, and wide leg jumpers.

Me being a heavy lover of prints, I entered the show with positive assumptions . The audience was  met with beautiful  images of  printed birds, cannabis leaf likes, sun rays, and desert inspired tones. My favorite highlight about the show was the extra long duck brim caps with a messy braided tail. I was really drawn to the relaxed feel it added to the collection. Hoffman’s Spring 2015 collection is fun and stylish with subtle wow factor you are sure to love. I am never disappointed in her eye for fabrics, and was highly impressed with the direction and range she showed as a designer this season.
