Every Obnoxiously Large Hat To Buy This Summer

It’s no question that extremely large hats for absolutely no reason have been having a moment. I think Jacquemus has a LOT to do with it and the revival of the tiney tiny bag that nothing but a tic tac and quarter can fit inside. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect hat, not wanting to shell out the almost $400 for one of his. I’m pretty rough on my hats and like to get a lot of wear out of them on vacations and in the summer. I have 3 extra large hats in my arsenal: this beauty from Cult Gaia that I got on sale and wore to my first ever Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, this & Other Stories Hat that I can bend into any shape that I took with me to Tulum Mexico and now this extra large Forever 21 gem (which is the largest of them all). It literally blocks my face and shoulders and upper body from the suns rays, and I know cause when I took these photos it was 99 degrees outside yall. This New York City heat is NO JOKE! Anywho, I hope you caught this $25 Forever 21 hat in this color and in neutral when I posted them on my Instatories and Weekly Links. If not…just sign up for the email notification. Thats what I did after they sold out in less than a day.

What do you all think of this trend? I can’t lie I love it and for a beach vacation it’s the ultimate accessory. I’ll definitely be packing this bad boy for my first Crop Over in Barbados. Speaking of packing it, a lot of people wonder how to pack a large brim hat. Its quite simple. Just ball a few socks or underwear or a tee shirt into the hat and put it brim down in your suitcase. Then pack everything around it and on top of the brim. It works like a charm and keeps the shape of your hat too.

Monroe, thank you for your style inspiration. I’m going to Antiqua in September and Jamaica in October for my 25th wedding anniversary. Girl, you are giving me ideas in ways to wear the clothes I currently own as well as other pieces that I’ve currently purchased. Oh, by the way, I purchased the ASOS one-shoulder dress. Once again thanks for the great photos, styling/packing tips, and links.
