Summer essentials for Fall
GET THE LOOK
I must say that July has been the most fun month for me this year. I don’t know what it is but I really feel like I’ve kinda found my groove in regards to blogging and being creative. It used to be really hard for me to put outfits together. I never thought of myself as a natural born stylist. It was something I had to work hard at for YEARS. I would be left standing in my room with clothes strewn all over the place in attempt to put together the perfect outfit. Even that has gotten easier for me. I’ve done it so much I can almost see an outfit in my head and I usually gear it around one piece like this corset from Fame and Partners. They are so good for excellent tailoring just look at this dress I wore in Cuba and this skirt I wore recently both from Fame and Partners. I like that you can customize your pieces as well and a portion of your purchase goes to women charities. I’m having more fun with my wardrobe than I ever have but I’m also scaling down and refining my wardrobe and actually reworking and rewearing key pieces over and over in different ways. I’ve also started doing personal styling consultations so if you’re interested and in the NYC area drop me an email.
Summer essentials I plan to work straight into fall include this linen top. I can tuck it into blue jeans or tie it up in a knot with a skirt. Once it gets a little cooler I can just layer it under kimonos and sweaters. Summer is my favorite season but I’m actually kind of excited about Fall and to get into layering. There’s so many ways I can rock this corset too. I can see it over a wrap dress or even a sweater dress. I’ve never really been a layering kind of girl but looking at all the Pre Fall lookbooks has me ready for velvet and satins and silks with thick cozy knits. Who am I turning into? I’ve even started wearing a darker lip in anticipation for cooler months. I also think it’s because my trip to Morocco is happening in October and it can’t come fast enough.
