Shop Spring Trends

IMG_1842

I have been a busy bee loading up shopping carts online and creating my wish list of a wardrobe that I slowly hope to acquire one day. Here’s a little Spring Trend preview. After New York Fashion Week, I was super inspired to shop and I got some great things too. But there is so much more I want to try! I’ve noticed a ton of trends that I think are here to stay and I’ve been scanning the web looking for the best of the best. I like to indulge in a trend or two but ultimately I think these pieces of will stay around and not just die out in a season or two.

The Unique Statement Earring

Yes, during New York Fashion Week, I saw someone wearing the exact same Annie Costello Brown earrings as I was. They are everywhere and rightfully so. They are fun and modern and made with love somewhere in sunny California. I don’t see the statement earring going anywhere. In fact I find more and more styles and designers that I love every week. I’ve never been a big earring gal until I started rocking my afro. Now I’m willing to drop a hefty amount on a great statement earring I know I can pass down when I’m older. You can also just rent a pair too at Rent The Runway if you’re not ready to purchase but wanna take this trend for a spin.

Florals

Florals are back and I can’t be more thrilled. They died down for a year or two but I am really feeling this floral top I got at Zara. I love the old school shape of it and the feel of it too. It’s a new twist on an old trend.

Unique Bags

I’m not really even a bag lady. I try to never take a purse anywhere. My ex used to hate it because I never had tissues, or lotion or hand sanitizer or anything that a “girlfriend” is supposed to carry around. Mainly because I never carried my purse. But there comes a time in every woman life when pockets aren’t enough! I’ve already lost a prized beanie and 2 Nars Lip Pencils (at $28 a pop) because of pockets. I am turning into a bag lady. A good sturdy tote goes a long way too.

Mules and Grandma Heels

Mules have been popping since 2015 and then Gucci came along and created the perfect block heeled crossover sandal (that I’m still planning on buying). I’m now obsessed with mules, slide ons and granny heels. I love a great high heel but I’ll be damned if the older I get the harder is it for me to keep them on for more than a few hours. I will be spending this Spring in these floral granny sandals from Sole Society that I wanted so badly I joined a waiting list. Topshop is also killing it in the shoe department. Yes I want this pearl heeled Chanel Mules that will cost me a months rent but these for $100 will do instead.

Denim with a Twist

Embroidered denim, unhemmed denim, frayed denim oh my. Denim has been reborn over the last year and is now the cool kid. I’m always up for a vintage high waisted pair of Levi’s but I definitely want a pair of floral embroidered denim as well.

Off the Shoulder/Asymmetrical Tops

Off the shoulder and asymmetrical tops are pretty much the go to tops for the fashionables. Every editor has been seen rocking a Rosie Assouline or Johanna Ortiz creation. Nothing really spruces up a lewk more that a unique top. Boohoo has a ton of great off the shoulder tops for less than $20!

Get into Ruffles

Ruffles are everywhere and rightfully so. It’s the hottest trend and I LOVE IT!

ATHLESIURE

Athleisure is the next hottest Spring Trend. Everyone is gearing up for Spring and Summer, doing their hot yoga and pilates. Even if you’re not going to work out, you can still be on trend. Fabletics by Kate Hudson, is a great activewear line with awesome designs from florals to sheer fabrics.

Have fun shopping the Spring Trends! What other trends will you be trying out this season? Don’t forget you can Shop My Poshmark Closet for a few Spring trends too.
