Last night I attended a day party, then hopped a midnight flight to Paris. I was a little anxious because I don’t do well with turbulence. Nonetheless I was super excited to be returning to the city I love and my adopted international home. There is just something about Paris. Maybe it’s the history and how old everything is compared to that of the United States. There is so much architecture and beauty in everything from the cobble stone streets to the strategic planting of trees and flowers, to the arch ways and monuments and breathtaking parks. Paris, there is nothing like it. I feel incredibly at peace whenever I am here. When in Paris, I usually stay in the 10th Arrondissement or the Canal St. Martin area. I am very familiar with that area but wanted to try something new, and have a difference experience. Thanks to the awesome people at Hotel Chavanel, I got experience a luxury 4 star penthouse suite. I may never leave. Just like this beautiful city, every nook of Hôtel Chavanel is filled with amazing decor. The attention to detail is very impressive and modern. When I first stepped foot into the unassuming and charming hotel, the first thing I noticed was the smell. The hotel smells absolutely amazing like sweet, fresh, clean laundry. That alone impressed me and I knew I was in for a fantastic first night stay in Paris. Ting, the front desk connoisseur checked me in and was super friendly and charming. My eye was immediately caught by the exposed wood beams and comfortable cool colors of the lobby. I was amazed when I first entered my room. It is a gorgeous top floor Parisian apartment, complete with a huge circular bed, windows covered in lace that overlook Parisian rooftops, a lovely seating area, countless works of exquisite art and decor, a desk for dreaming up these blog post as well as a pristine bathroom with rainfall shower and a very large soaking tub jacuzzi. This place is instagram heaven! I was also greeted with a lovely bottle of Diamant champagne and a note from the owner Sophie Charlet-Melloul, welcoming me to my suite and also giving me a perfume diffuser of their signature hotel scent! I was sold after that! Lace is a common theme throughout the hotel and adorns the thick windows.
Hotel Chavanel is located in the Madeleine area and is quiet, charming and exquisite. I managed to take a shower and a jacuzzi soak in less than 10 hours and don’t regret it. I actually fell sound asleep in the tub. Even though it’s super close to luxury stores and even Printemps, it is very quaint and quiet, even on the streets. I adore it’s close proximity to the Tuileries, Palais Royal, The Louvre and the Seine River. I managed to walk to all of these sites today from the hotel in about 20 minutes and it was a peaceful and enjoyable part of my stay. I’m really looking forward to their morning breakfast as well. I just love the decor and cave-like feel of the dining room. I’ve definitely enjoyed exploring this area of Paris and will be more inclined to stay at Hotel Chavanel during my next Paris visit. Huge thanks to Hotel Chavanel for the royal treatment!
