I used to run in high school. Last leg of the 4 x 2 and 100 meter dash. I was never very good but I loved being a part of the team. There was also a very cute boy I was after who ran as well. But thats neither here or there. Running has kind of stuck with me, even though I actually hate the act of running. My hips start to hurt, I usually get shin splints and am generally sore for days after running. But its what I do to clear my head, to relieve stress and its my place to go when I just don’t feel like being present. You will usually only catch me running when I’m angry. Which is pretty often so there you have it.
My favorite place to run is along the Hudson River at Riverbank State Park in Manhattan. It has a perfect trail, beautiful scenery and its nice passing the same people every other day sitting with their dogs or their children. Its very serene. Most of the time i run with a partner, a good friend of mine who coaches track and field and runs herself. Once we ran a few miles then got hungry, so we ran to IHOP, ate then ran home lol. Sometimes I like to run without music but most of the time I need it to get me through my run. I never listen to the radio so I don’t know what good music is out so I mainly rely on whats on my ipod and this soundcloud that I’ve really come to love and listen to on a daily basis. Anywho, a lot of people don’t know that I went to graduate school at NYU and this is the only shirt I have from my 3.5 years spent there studying my brains out.
