Hôtel Adèle & Jules, a Hidden Gem of Paris

I’m really glad that I took the opportunity to stay at some amazing hotels while here in Paris for Paris Fashion Week. I usually end up renting an airbnb but I may never do that again after my stay at Hotel Adele & Jules. Nothing beats the amenities when it comes to a boutique hotel. Hôtel Adèle & Jules had it all. Even though it’s located just off the major Grands Boulevard, it’s tucked away on a dead in street with mostly residential buildings. I was lucky enough to meet with the owner Nicolas at the end of my stay and was shown the rooms and color schemes on each of the 6 Floors of Jules. You see, Hôtel Adèle & Jules are two separate hotels 20 ft away from each other. They are both 6 floors and both decorated exactly alike. It’s uncanny how you can’t really tell which one you’re in when walking inside. My stay was in Adèle but I was shown around Jules which just opened a mere 3 weeks ago. It was super fresh and new and the decor was really what caught my eye as well as the small touches. Being at Hôtel Adèle & Jules felt more like being in a true Parisian neighborhood and space. It didn’t feel at all touristy or gimmicky. In fact, I’m quite sure the only tourists around for a considerable distance were all lodging at Hotel Adele & Jules.

I whole heartedly believe any hotel without a full length mirror is not worthy of my stay. This is quite the luxury especially for a person who loves and needs to see her outfit in it’s entirety. On the desk I found a lovely note from the Hôtel Adèle & Jules team as well as box of chocolate! I knew I was going to like it here. The light in every room is amazing and I love the very large windows. The bathroom with it’s Parisian subway tile reminded me a lot of New York City. While sitting in the lovely lounge complete with a Mac computer and an expansive library, over an expresso, I spoke with Nicolas about his love for New York and my love for Paris. My opinions of New York surprised him. Don’t get me wrong, I love New York, it’s the greatest city on earth, but it’s dirty and smelly and very rough around all the edges. Paris is pristine, I could eat off the subway platform if I wanted to. He has a difference of opinion about Paris but of course he loves it here, he just loves New York more. It’s always this way with Parisians and New Yorkers. We always want what we don’t have.

But back to the hotel, my favorite thing to do is relax with a cup of tea and Hotel Adele & Jules offers a lovely tea time daily. After a day of shooting and shopping, I made it just in time to prepare myself a warm tea and sit under the skylight in the plush chairs reading a Parisian fashion magazine. It was a wonderful way to decompress before letting a rain water shower wash away the aches in my legs from walking so much. Due to an early photo shoot time I also requested a 7am breakfast in my room and it arrived at exactly 7am on the dot and was delicious! I really love simple Parisian breakfasts and I’m sure I’ve gained 5 pounds from all the bread I’ve been eating, but I can’t help myself it’s divine. The service is really impeccable as well. I was greeted by Silvia at the front desk who is a true gem. She was so delightful and helpful explaining everything quickly and even helping me with my bags. She is always smiling and just a pleasure to be around. I find that all of the staff at Hôtel Adèle & Jules are quite charming. I also love that there is an open bar/snack policy. You simply take from the bar or snack lounge what you want, write it on a tab and drop it in a box for it to be tallied on to your stay. That’s so honorable and endearing. I really liked that extra personal touch.

What will draw you into Hôtel Adèle & Jules is the superb interior design by Stephane Poux who dreamed up some fantastic color schemes, wall papers and fabrics to make each room on each floor special and unique. The hotel is right smack dab in the middle of all the action in Paris. It’s super quick and easy to get to all the major attractions in 15 minutes or less via metro and it’s definitely worth a visit to Passage du Jouffroy for great knick knacks from your trip. If you are looking to live like a local but with the best decor and special touches, Hotel Adele & Jules is where you should be!
