Paris Fashion Week: Day 3 Style Diary

Day 3 of Paris Fashion Week was a pretty relaxed one. The morning I spent roaming around the streets of Canal St. Martin, discovering thrift shop after thrift shop. Then I went back to my spot Ari’s Bagels for a delish roast beef bagel with pickels, crispy onions, avocato and a tangy mustard sauce. I swear I love that place! After scarfing that down, I hopped the metro to meet up with my photographer friend Emily at the Celine show. Unfortunately I ended up getting super lost and decided to head to Palais de Tokyo for the Tex Sevario S/S 2015 Presentation.

The presentation was very theatrical. There were silver face masks and silver streaked into the hair of the models. The collection was very cohesive in color, sticking to grays and silvers with lots of shine and sheen. It was a fun and interesting collection that I could see being used in high fashion editorials. After the presentation I sat around for a bit off to the side so I can people watch. The street fashion in Paris is just so inspiring. I have so many outfit ideas now that I have taken to typing them down in the notes of my iPhone. After Emily got her fair share of street style photos we made our way back to one of our favorite little cafes with a very rude waiter for a coffee, (and for Emily some cake), before we made our way to the Grand Palais for the Chloe show. Once we arrived at Chloe, it was mayhem, set along side the Champs Elysees, there were throngs of people and photographers. I had had enough for the day and decided to make my way back to my apartment. I stopped off at the neighborhood boulangerie (bakery) to pick up a strawberry shortcake and then came home and promptly devoured it.

While eating away, I decided to google “Vintage Shops in Paris” and up popped Thanx God I’m VIP, a 4 stared Vintage Boutique a mere 3 blocks from my airbnb rental. It was 6:15pm and the place closed at 7pm. I scarfed down the rest of my shortcake and out the door I ran (literally) the 5 minutes to the shop. It was a vintage lovers dream. The upstairs was color coded and filled with vintage Chanel, Guy Laroche, Christian Dior and Giorgio Armani. There was even a vintage red envelope Louis Vuitton clutch that I drooled over, but at 450 euros it was astronomically out of my price range. The prices were too much for me as well. I was just about to leave when I saw a stairwell leading down to the basement, and thats where the real magic happened. Everything downstairs was 50 euros or less and it was a color coded treasure trove. I tried on about 10 pieces. I would have taken them all but my budget only allowed for two skirts and an ultra cool drawstring bag.

I basically closed the store and home I went but not before stopping again at the boulangerie and ordering another strawberry shortcake.
